💀 Words, words, words.
"One by one" is the typographic method. Sequential. Linear. Each thing isolated, addressed in order, knocked down in series. That's how you process text. That's how you process whiskey. That's how you process people.
The Contract is the deadliest form of the linear word. It binds across time. It converts relationship into obligation. It's how land got taken—treaties, signatures, documents the other party couldn't read. The contract is typography weaponized: I write it, you sign it, now you're bound.
Jack signed a contract to be caretaker. He has "always been the caretaker"—the contract extends backward, claims him retroactively. He's not choosing violence; the document requires it.
