The town of Twin Peaks is the nervous system. The Peaks are the two lobes of the cortex. The Black Lodge is the right brain — the silent brain. Cooper is the conditioned self, the linguistic homunculus. The Lodge is home to the silent homunculus — the shadowy doppelgänger.
