👁️🗨️ Psycho Medium
The medium is the message: it’s not the content that matters. The words, videos, memes, or TikToks are brownian variations. The form itself — the glowing rectangle, the earbuds, the feeds, the interfaces — reshapes attention, perception, and existence. It’s not texting, tweeting, or scrolling that defines you; it’s the Device that fragments your attention, scare-mongers you, begs you for money, externalizes all memory, nags you about spelling, autocorrects your grammar, autocompletes what you will say, bottlenecks every communication channel, orders your food, streams your music over bluetooth, tells you where to drive and what to do, and BLASTS reminders you didn’t ask for, sometimes from the past or about events already canceled. You don’t use the PHONE — it uses you, rewiring your social rituals one notification at a time, mapping and colonizing vast regions of your neural geography, mining and auctioning off your anxieties, and reshaping your daily life into endless, commodifiable opportunities for micro-targeting.
Earbuds do not play music; they enclose you in a personal, inescapable sound bubble, converting the street, the subway, the office, into curated opera halls of attention, signaling UNAVAILABILITY AND PERSONAL EMBUBBLEMENT. RIP albums. RIP songs. We want dopamine bullets called “tracks,” hypercompressed, beamed directly into our skulls, each a designer drug, an engineered stimulant for the nervous system. Opinions no longer flow in conversation among citizens; they are beam-fed directly into your ears from curated feeds featuring every charlatan, loudmouth, and ideological acrobat the algorithm can assemble. Digest, nod, react — the content is secondary, your REACTION PRIMARY, your ANGER what moves conversion. And so we feature viewpoints from the entire spectrum: ALL THE WAY FROM CENTER-RIGHT TO RADICAL-RIGHT, INCLUSIVE.
Social media does not host posts or stories; it quantifies your selfhood, gamifies attention, engineers outrage, assembles tribes on battlefields of pre-orchestrated conflict, and monetizes despair. Doomscrolling, UNETHICAL Pavlovian A/B testing, likes, follows, retweets, metrics — life becomes a feedback-optimized performance art piece. The Bad News sells the Good News. And the only good news? THE ADS. ESCAPISM. FEEL BAD? BUY THIS! FEEL BAD? THAT’S GOOD NEWS FOR US!
Instant connectivity does not deliver messages; it instills the expectation of perpetual availability, flipping the old social assumption from “all is well unless otherwise informed” to “they didn’t respond… are they dead? Did the signal drop? Is the algorithm hiding them from me?!” Anxiety, anticipation, and relief are choreographed by the medium itself. The content is irrelevant. The medium — the subliminal architect of consciousness — rewires you, censors and curates your experience, reorganizes perception and purpose, dominates attention, and broadcasts ersatz existence back to you in real time.
