🐉 Nink
In seventh grade I stumbled onto HyperCard, and the world cracked open. Until then, computers had been type-and-print machines, but here was a blank canvas I could wire with logic, images, and sound. My friend Grant and I set out to build a stack called Nink. It grew into a sprawling, animated world—little places to wander, puzzles tucked away, tiny secrets hidden in corners only we knew. I would sit for hours, coaxing those cards to life, feeling like a magician who had just discovered the right spellbook.
It was the first time I thought, this is what I want to do with my life.
And then one day, in an instant, it was gone. Grant dragged the stack to the trash, emptied it, and all of Nink disappeared into the void. My cherished work vanished before my eyes.
The loss stung. But it also left me with something more powerful than the stack itself—the conviction that worlds like Nink can be built again. So I am going to rebuild Nink.
The first puzzle will be a thing where you have to guess a password by brute force :)
